Boobusters Mario and Luigi as Ghostbusters

This painting measures 20 x 30” and is painting on a piece of birch wood with a wooden frame backing it. The sides are painted black and it can be hung as is in a wall or you could frame it if you wanted to. This is the first painting I’ve done in a long time where I experimented with glazes. The beam of light was painted with a fluorescent paint that kind of glows in darker rooms. It was painted over the course of a little over a month. The paint is almost exclusively liquitex paint, save for the black which is golden acrylic fluid carbon black, and is one of the only glossy touches on the painting. The boo’s tongue has a little bit of gloss medium on it also to make it look wet. The painting was truly a labor of love for me, as Mario games are pretty much all favorites… I also used references to depict as much of the real ghostbusting equipment as possible…
